76ers
The 76ers announced that rookie forward Johni Broome underwent a partial meniscectomy Saturday to address a lateral meniscus tear in his right knee. He will be reevaluated in four weeks.
Broome, the 35th overall pick in the 2025 draft, suffered the injury last weekend while playing for Delaware in the G League. The 23-year-old had weighed treatment options before opting for surgery.
A former standout at Auburn, Broome has appeared in 11 games with Philadelphia but has played a larger role in the G League, averaging 21.8 points and 8.4 rebounds in 26 contests.
Timberwolves
The Timberwolves waived two-way guard Jules Bernard.
Bernard signed earlier this week and will receive the remainder of his prorated two-way salary. He has spent most of the season with Iowa in the G League, averaging 22.6 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.
Minnesota now has an open two-way slot ahead of Wednesday’s signing deadline.
Mavericks
During Thursday’s broadcast, Dallas Mavericks CEO Rick Welts said governor Patrick Dumont chose not to raise ticket prices for 2026-27.
“We didn’t deliver this year,” Welts said Dumont told staff, via The Athletic’s Christian Clark. “We’re not going to raise one ticket price.”
Welts called it “a popular decision” and “the right one.”
