LeBron James turned 41 during the 2025-26 season. That much you know. But the expectation around the NBA is that the end is not here just yet.
According to Vincent Goodwill of ESPN, the belief in league circles is that James will play at least one more season.
Obviously, LeBron is no longer the long-term centerpiece of the franchise. That role now belongs to superstar guard Luka Doncic. Still, James remains one of the most important and accomplished players in Lakers history.
He has spent the past eight seasons in Los Angeles and helped deliver a championship in 2020.
Whether he finishes his career with the Lakers remains to be seen.
If James does reach free agency, contenders across the league would almost certainly line up for a chance to add him, particularly if he is willing to take less money to pursue a fifth title.
