New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson has hit another milestone in his contract.
By appearing in his 51st game of the season, Williamson increased the guaranteed portion of his salary for next year from $16.9 million to $25.3 million, ESPN’s Bobby Marks noted.
Williamson’s contract includes several protection triggers tied to games played. Reaching the 50-game mark activated the latest one, adding more guaranteed money to his 2026 salary.
There are still larger figures attached to the deal moving forward. Williamson is scheduled to earn $42.2 million in 2026-27, though that season previously carried no protection before the start of the year.
The incentives were built into Williamson’s contract due to past injury concerns earlier in his career.
When available, however, Williamson has continued to produce at an All-Star level and remains a central piece of the Pelicans’ long-term plans.
