The Golden State Warriors plan to sign free agent center Omer Yurtseven to a 10-day contract, according to Marc Stein of The Stein Line.

Yurtseven, 27, recently signed a G League deal and appeared in three games with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the Houston Rockets’ affiliate. In those outings, he averaged 23.0 points, 13.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocks while shooting nearly 57 percent from the field.

He previously appeared in 113 NBA games with the Miami Heat and Utah Jazz from 2021-24, averaging 5.0 points and 4.6 rebounds in limited minutes.

The Turkish big man has spent much of the past two seasons overseas with Panathinaikos before recently parting ways with the EuroLeague club.

Golden State could certainly use the depth. The Warriors have been hit hard by injuries, with Jimmy Butler (torn ACL) and Stephen Curry (runner’s knee) sidelined since January. Moses Moody has also missed the past six games with a wrist sprain.

Meanwhile, Al Horford is expected to miss multiple games with a calf strain and Seth Curry is dealing with an adductor issue. Draymond Green and Quinten Post have also appeared on the injury report.

As a three-year veteran, Yurtseven will earn $136,717 over the 10-day span while counting roughly $131,970 against the cap. The Warriors had an open roster spot and did not need to waive anyone to make the move.
