It sounds like LeBron James is not ready to walk away just yet.

According to Shams Charania of ESPN, the expectation around the league is that the Los Angeles Lakers star will play at least one more NBA season.

James, 41, is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, which would mark the first time he has reached the open market since 2018.

What happens next remains unclear. The Lakers have begun shifting their long-term focus toward a younger core that includes Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves, leaving James’ future in Los Angeles somewhat uncertain.

Still, the four-time champion continues to produce at a high level deep into his career. Even in his 21st season, James remains one of the league’s most impactful players.

Whether that next season comes with the Lakers or elsewhere is the bigger question.
