Lakers
The Lakers just keep finding ways.
Luke Kennard drilled a go-ahead three with 0.6 seconds left as Los Angeles edged the Orlando Magic, 105-104, for its ninth straight win. Marcus Smart delivered the inbounds dime. Kennard did the rest.
That is what they brought him in to do.
LeBron James made a little history, too, passing Robert Parish for most regular-season games played. He did not dominate the box score, but he made winning plays late, including a key defensive sequence that gave L.A. one last shot.
Luka Doncic led with 33 points. Austin Reaves added 26. The Lakers are now 22-6 in clutch games.
They believe in those moments. It shows.
Spurs
San Antonio is not sneaking up on anyone anymore.
Keldon Johnson and Dylan Harper each scored 24 as the Spurs handled the Indiana Pacers, 134-119. They never trailed.
Harper did it in his first NBA start, going 9-of-13 from the field. Victor Wembanyama added 20 points, eight rebounds, six assists and five blocks in another do-it-all effort.
The Spurs have won 21 of their last 23 and sit at 53-18. That is their best mark since 2017.
They look like a real problem.
Thunder
Oklahoma City stayed hot and a little feisty.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander went for 40 points as the Thunder beat the Washington Wizards, 132-111, for their 11th straight win. He has now scored at least 20 in 63 consecutive road games.
There was also some chaos.
A second-quarter scuffle led to four ejections, including OKC’s Jaylin Williams and Washington’s Justin Champagnie. It spilled into the stands before settling down.
After that, it was all Thunder. Business as usual.
