Charge GM Liron Fanan named G League Executive of the Year

Liron Fanan, general manager of the Cleveland Charge, has been named the NBA G League Basketball Executive of the Year for 2025-26, the team announced.

The award is voted on by the league’s head coaches and general managers.

Fanan becomes the first woman to win the honor.

“Liron’s leadership and tireless work ethic have been instrumental,” Cavaliers president of basketball operations Koby Altman said. “This recognition is well deserved, and we’re incredibly proud of her.”

The Charge finished 23-13 in the regular season, earning the No. 3 seed in the East. Their 31-19 overall record tied a franchise high. Along the way, Cleveland ranked first in assists (29.9 per game) and second in scoring (123.6), offensive rating (119.9) and field goal percentage (49.4).

More importantly, the development pipeline delivered.

Six players earned NBA call-ups, including three to the Cavaliers. Nae’Qwan Tomlin was converted from a two-way deal to a standard contract with the Cavs.

Fanan has been part of the organization since 2018, working her way up from player development to assistant GM before taking over the top job. She now joins Mike Gansey as the only Charge executives to win the award.

Cleveland opens the G League playoffs tonight against the Capital City Go-Go.
