The Lakers intend to sign veteran point guard guard Dennis Schroder for training camp and perhaps beyond, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Schroder, of course, spent the 2020-21 season in LA, before signing with the Celtics last summer. He was traded to the Rockets in February before entering unrestricted free agency.
Per Charania, Schroder will be receiving a one-year contract for the veteran’s minimum of $2.64 million.
Schroder, 28, is 6-foot-3 and appeared in 14 games with the Rockets to finish the season. He played 49 for the Celtics before that, averaging 14.4 points and 4.2 assists.
He has also spent time with the Thunder and Hawks, and along with the Lakers, had drawn interest from the Jazz and Mavericks, sources told Hoops Wire.
