There isn’t much good news around the Rockets lately. But perhaps they got a dose, even if it is minor.
Hey, you’ll take what you can get when you’re in a 3-0 playoff hole.
So, that morsel of halfway decent news? Well, it involves Kevin Durant, who missed the Game 3 overtime loss to the Lakers with a sprained ankle. For Game 4, he has been upgraded to questionable.

With or without Durant, the Rockets must win four straight — or it’s season over. It will take a basketball miracle even with Durant. But that sure beats the alternative, and being without him again.
Game 4 is Sunday, again in Houston. For Durant, “questionable” means exactly what it says. His status is up in the air. If he does play, who knows how effective you actually can be on a sprained ankle? The Rockets’ preference would be to find out.
If he can’t go, that again means the Rockets will have to rely on Alperen Sengun and the rest.
“We have another game Sunday. The series is not over,” Sengun said after Friday’s loss. “We still believe we can come back. Win Sunday, then (again in Game 5 in Los Angeles), then come back here again. Nobody is giving up … That’s what we gotta do.”
Believing is good. Having Durant in the lineup would make that a lot easier.
