Veteran small forward Jae Crowder will not attend training camp as the Suns look to trade him, the team revealed in a press release.
Crowder also release a message on Twitter.
“One must seek work where he is wanted… where he is needed!” Crowder wrote. “I am thankful for what these past two years have taught me. Now, I must take on another challenge with continued hard work and dedication. For those of you who closed the door on me… Thank you! 99 back soon!”
Crowder, 32, is 6-foot-6 and served as a “3-and-D” forward who was a key cog in the Suns’ run to the Finals in 2021.
Last year, appeared in and started 67 games, averaging 9.4 points on 40 percent shooting, to go with 5.3 rebounds and some strong defense.
But with the younger Cameron Johnson coming on strong at the end of last season, there may have been a change in the starting lineup. In exchange for Crowder, the Suns may looking for another veteran to come off the bench.
The Heat and Clippers are among the teams that have been linked to Crowder.
