The Rockets intend to waive shooting guard Ty Jerome following Thursday’s multi-player deal with the Thunder, per Kelly Iko of The Athletic.
Along with Jerome, the Rockets are receiving forwards Derrick Favors and Moe Harkless, point guard Theo Malden and a 2025 second round pick via the Hawks, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
In exchange, the Thunder are receiving guard/forward David Nwaba, forwards Sterling Brown and Marquese Chriss and point guard Trey Burke, also per Wojnarowski.
Jerome, 25, is 6-foot-5 and appeared in 48 games last season, averaging 7.1 points and 2.3 assists, shooting 38 percent from the field. He averaged 10.7 points the year before that with Oklahoma City, after starting his NBA career with the Suns.
Along with the players, the Thunder landed two trade exceptions and are now $10 million under the lottery tax, per Wojnarowski. Meanwhile, the Rockets acquired a second-round pick for taking on $1 million in salary.
