The Warriors are signing shooting guard Ty Jerome to a training camp contract and waiving guard Mac McClung, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Jerome was waived by the Rockets immediately following last week’s trade with the Thunder. He is likely to compete for a two-way spot with the Warriors, or perhaps a spot on the 15-man roster.
As we relayed here, the Warriors also intend to sign small forward Anthony Lamb to a camp deal.
Jerome, 25, is 6-foot-5 and appeared in 48 games with the Thunder last season, averaging 7.1 points and 2.3 assists, shooting 38 percent from the field. He averaged 10.7 points the year before that with Oklahoma City, after starting his NBA career with the Suns.
In that trade, the Rockets also received forwards Derrick Favors and Moe Harkless, point guard Theo Malden and a 2025 second round pick via the Hawks.
Meanwhile, the Thunder received guard/forward David Nwaba, forwards Sterling Brown and Marquese Chriss and point guard Trey Burke.
McClung, 23, is 6-2 and scored nine points in the Warriors’ previous preseason win vs. the Wizards in Japan. He wowed the crowd with a few dunks in the layup line before that. He spent last season with the South Bay Lakers of the G League and has appeared in a total of two NBA games.
