The Lakers are expected to focus much of their offseason on LeBron James. Perhaps Kevin Love could eventually enter the picture, too.
Speaking on ESPN’s NBA Today, veteran NBA insider Marc Spears suggested Love could emerge as a potential Lakers target in free agency, creating the possibility of a reunion between two key members of the Cavaliers’ 2016 championship team.

“LeBron is likely coming back,” Spears said. “Kevin Love could likely be joining the Lakers, too. I could see those two guys being reunited there.”
Nothing is believed to be imminent. But the idea certainly isn’t difficult to envision.
Love and James recently spent time together in London while celebrating the 10-year anniversary of Cleveland’s historic NBA title. Both are also headed toward unrestricted free agency later this month.
Love, who turns 38 in September, spent last season with the Jazz, appearing in 37 games and averaging 6.7 points and 5.8 rebounds.
While he’s no longer the All-Star player he once was, Love could still provide veteran leadership, floor spacing and frontcourt depth for a Lakers team expected to explore multiple roster upgrades.
Meanwhile, most Hoops Wire sources believe James will ultimately remain in Los Angeles, despite occasional speculation linking him to teams such as the Cavs and Warriors.
If that happens, perhaps another familiar face could be joining him. At the very least, Spears believes it’s a possibility worth watching.
