Cavaliers
The Cavaliers are continuing their evaluations ahead of the 2026 NBA Draft.
According to Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com, the Cavs hosted six prospects for a workout Wednesday — Arizona guard Jaden Bradley, UCLA guard Skyy Clark, Oklahoma forward Tae Davis, Indiana wing Tucker DeVries, South Alabama guard Chaze Harris and Ohio guard Jackson Paveletzke.
Bradley was the biggest name of the group, checking in at No. 38 on ESPN’s list of top available prospects.
The Cavs hold the No. 29 overall pick in next week’s draft.
By the way, they will visit the Magic for a preseason game on October 13, Orlando revealed in a press release.
Pistons
The Pistons may have arrived ahead of schedule.
As Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors detailed in an offseason preview, Detroit has gone from one of the NBA’s worst teams to one of the East’s best in remarkably short order.
Much of that has been driven by the continued growth of Cade Cunningham, Jalen Duren and Ausar Thompson, who have emerged as the foundation of one of the league’s most promising young cores.
“Cunningham has averaged 25.1 points and 9.5 assists per game since the start of the 2024/25 season while showing that he’s capable of being the best player on a legitimate title contender,” Adams wrote.
Now comes the next challenge.
After a 60-win season ended earlier than expected in the playoffs, the Pistons face increasing pressure to determine whether it’s time to become more aggressive in building around Cunningham.
On the bright side, Detroit enters the offseason with flexibility, young talent and expectations that are suddenly much higher than they were just two years ago.
Magic
The Magic may not be looking for a major shakeup.
According to Spotrac’s Keith Smith, Orlando is expected to focus more on maintaining and refining its current roster than making a blockbuster move this summer.
One name worth monitoring is guard Anthony Black.
Smith suggested a four-year extension worth roughly $80 million could make sense for both sides, though Black may prefer to play out another season before discussing a long-term deal.
