The Hornets are waiving forward Anthony Duruji and shooting guard Jaylen Sims, according to Rod Boone of the Charlotte Observer.
Sims is 6-foot-6 and a native of Charlotte, signing a camp deal with the Hornets in September after going undrafted. Last season as a senior at UNC Wilmington he compiled averages of 16.4 points and 5.8 rebounds to lead the team.
Duruji is 6-7 and also went undrafted. He spent his first two years at Louisiana Tech before finishing at Florida. In his two years with the Gators, he averaged 7.4 points and 4.2 rebounds.
Both rookies are likely headed to the Greensboro Swarm, the Hornets’ affiliate in the G League.
As we relayed here, the Hornets are also signing guard Theo Maledon to a two-way contract. At the moment, the roster stands at 18.
