Nets
The Nets may not be finished making moves.
Brian Lewis of the New York Post wrote that restricted free agent Peyton Watson remains a player Brooklyn has “been in their sights” as the offseason continues.
Landing Watson won’t be easy.
The Nuggets can match any offer sheet after extending the young forward a qualifying offer, and reports have indicated Watson is seeking a contract worth at least $25 million per season. If Denver can’t reach an agreement, a sign-and-trade could become a possibility.
Lewis noted that Brooklyn still has plenty of flexibility, along with extra future first-round picks, leaving the front office well-positioned to pursue additional upgrades.
The Nets have already reshaped much of their roster. They may not be done yet.
Sixers
Adem Bona isn’t going anywhere.
According to Adam Aaronson of PhillyVoice, the Sixers will guarantee Bona’s $2.3 million salary for the 2026-27 season by keeping him past Tuesday’s deadline.
The move wasn’t exactly unexpected.
Bona has steadily worked his way into Philadelphia’s rotation over the past two seasons, appearing in 71 games and making 18 starts last year while averaging 4.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.2 blocks.
With Andre Drummond now in New York, Bona figures to compete with newcomer Ariel Hukporti for backup minutes behind Joel Embiid.
The Sixers also control Bona’s future beyond next season, holding a team option for 2027-28 and the ability to discuss a contract extension later this month.
Suns
Koby Brea will be back in Phoenix.
The Suns officially re-signed the second-year guard to another two-way contract after he became a restricted free agent, as first reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Dana Gauruder of Hoops Rumors noted that Brea likely accepted the qualifying offer Phoenix extended in June.
The former second-round pick appeared in 12 NBA games as a rookie but did most of his work with the Valley Suns, averaging 16.4 points while continuing to display the outside shooting that made him one of college basketball’s top marksmen at Kentucky.
With Brea back in the fold, all three of Phoenix’s two-way roster spots are now filled.
