Who’s available in 2027? Early look at NBA free agency

The 2026 free-agent market is finally slowing down, but it’s never too early to look ahead.

Several of the NBA’s biggest stars could become free agents in the summer of 2027, though many are expected to sign extensions before then. Still, it’s a group worth keeping an eye on.

Here are some of the biggest names, based on a look from NBA.com’s John Schuhmann:

The next extension class

The 2023 draft class is also eligible for rookie-scale extensions before next season begins. Victor Wembanyama has already agreed to his new deal, while several other notable names remain in line for extensions, including Brandon Miller, Amen Thompson, Ausar Thompson, Cason Wallace and Keyonte George.

Historically, many of those agreements don’t come until just before the start of the regular season.

For now, the summer of 2027 remains a long way off. But with stars such as Curry, LeBron, Jokic, Giannis and Durant all potentially facing contract decisions, it’s already shaping up as another offseason that could alter the NBA landscape.
