Dalano Banton drawing interest from several overseas teams

Dalano Banton‘s next stop could be overseas.

The free agent guard is drawing interest from several EuroLeague teams after being waived by the Celtics last month, according to Spanish outlet Encestando, via Rory Maher of Hoops Rumors.

Olympiacos in Greece and multiple teams in Spain are among those monitoring Banton, while Besiktas in Turkey also reportedly has interest.

Matteo Andreani of BeBasket adds Partizan Belgrade and Valencia Basket to the list of potential suitors.

Banton, 26, spent most of last season with the Texas Legends of the G League before receiving 10-day contracts from the Clippers and Celtics. Boston eventually signed him to a multiyear deal late in the regular season before waiving him in July.

The 6-foot-8 guard appeared in six NBA games last season and has played 222 games across five seasons. He owns career averages of 6.6 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists.

Banton’s size and ability to handle the ball have always made him an intriguing option, though his outside shooting has remained inconsistent.

It’s unclear whether Banton is ready to leave the NBA or will wait for a training-camp opportunity. Either way, he apparently won’t be short on options if he decides Europe is next.
