The Raptors are giving Tyreke Key and Nimari Burnett an opportunity to compete in training camp.
Both guards signed Exhibit 10 contracts and are included on Toronto’s camp roster, according to Blake Murphy of Sportsnet. They join Nate Bittle and Andre Jackson Jr. among the team’s camp invitees.
Key already has a connection to the organization after spending last season with Raptors 905. He averaged 16.6 points in 33 regular-season appearances while shooting 52.1 percent from the field and 42.1 percent from beyond the arc.
Toronto briefly signed Key to an NBA contract near the end of last season before waiving him. The 26-year-old has yet to appear in an NBA game.
Burnett agreed to join the Raptors shortly after going undrafted in June. He averaged 8.2 points and shot 37.5 percent on 3-pointers for Michigan’s national championship team last season.
Several other teams filled out their camp rosters Thursday, as Paul Garcia of The Spot Up Shot reported five additional signings.
The Spurs added guard Jon Elmore and center Malik Williams, while the Kings signed forwards Gabe Levin and Tyrone Marshall Jr. The Timberwolves added guard Antonio Reeves.
Reeves owns the most NBA experience of that group. The former Kentucky standout was selected in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft and has appeared in games for the Pelicans and Hornets.
Williams also has NBA experience from previous stops with Toronto and Atlanta. Elmore, Levin and Williams have otherwise spent much of their professional careers in the G League or overseas.
Most of the deals are likely Exhibit 10 contracts that could eventually send the players to their organizations’ G League affiliates.
