Clippers’ Ty Lue on Max Strus injury: ‘Never good’ on a non-contact play

Clippers coach Tyronn Lue didn’t offer a diagnosis for Max Strus’ right foot injury Sunday night. He did acknowledge how it looked.

“Never good to see when it’s a non-contact play,” Lue said, via Clippers beat writer Joey Linn. Strus will undergo tests when the team returns to Los Angeles.

As we relayed earlier, Strus came up hobbling about five minutes into the Clippers’ preseason opener against the Warriors in Hawaii. He went straight to the locker room and was ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Strus joined the Clippers from the Cavaliers this offseason. Sunday was his first chance to play alongside his new teammates in a game, and it ended almost as soon as it started.

The Clippers won 104-101. Now they’ll head home and find out more about Strus’ foot.
