Dennis Schroder, Thomas Bryant Expected to Play in Lakers’ Next Game

Point guard Dennis Schroder and center Thomas Bryant are expected to make their season debuts in the Lakers’ next game, per Shams Charania of The Athletic/Stadium.Dennis Schroder

Schroder is actually serving his second stint with the team, while Bryant came over from the Wizards. Both players landed in LA via free agent deals and have been out following surgeries on their thumbs.

The Lakers (3-10) are off until Friday, when they host the Pistons.

Schroder, 28, is 6-foot-3 and Schroder, 28, is 6-foot-3 and appeared in 14 games with the Rockets to finish last season, playing 49 with the Celtics before that, averaging 14.4 points and 4.2 assists. He then stood out for Germany at the FIBA World Cup before signing with the Lakers.

He has also spent time with the Hawks and Thunder since entering the NBA in 2013. Originally drafted by Atlanta with the No. 17 overall pick, he carries career averages of 14.2 points and 4.7 assists.

Bryant, 25, is 6-10 and actually could help the Lakers when it comes to spreading the court. He has appeared in just 37 games over the past two seasons, both with the Wizards, but has been a productive and versatile big man when healthy.
