Grizzlies
- Power forward Jaren Jackson Jr. intends to make his season debut Tuesday vs. the Pelicans, per Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report/TNT. Jackson has missed the first 14 games after undergoing a procedure on his right foot during the offseason.
- Shooting guard Desmond Bane said the loss to the Warriors in the Western Conference playoffs last season still lingers, via Tania Ganguli of the New York Times. “It’s that feeling that I won’t forget,” Bane said. “Just empty. I want more. I think we all want more.”
Celtics
Coach Joe Mazzulla said there is no update on a specific timetable involving center Robert Williams III, via Cameron Tabatabaie of USA Today.
“No timetable has changed as far as where he’s at.” Mazzulla said, via Tabatabaie. “He’s doing good, he’s in great spirits mentally. He’s doing a great job with his rehab, it’s great to see him out there and progressing well.”
Knicks
Guard/forward Evan Fournier said he is still looking to get into a rhythm shooting from the perimeter.
“The thing is when you only shoot three times a game … it adds up. It adds up. And at the end of the season, you look at your [shooting] percentage and it’s not good,” Fournier said, via Peter Botte of the New York Post. “But it’s just hard to find a rhythm right now. I think not knowing the rotation, what’s coming your way, etcetera, etcetera. I have to do a better job of all that and just being in the moment, being ready for whatever.”
Clippers
When asked if forward Kawhi Leonard will remain out for Tuesday’s game vs. the Mavericks, coach Tyronn Lue said he didn’t know, per Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.
“There’s really not a time frame of when he is going to be back,” Lue said last week, via Youngmisuk. “The biggest thing is just the testing that he has to go through with the medical and the slow progression of just getting better every single day. And so we’re just taking it day by day right now, not really a timetable.”
Leonard, 31, has appeared in just two games this season, averaging 12.5 points and 6.5 rebounds.
