The 76ers have had trade talks centered on forward Tobias Harris as part of their “usual check-ins,” according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Basically, while it doesn’t seem as Philadelphia is feeling desperate to make a deal, it never hurts to ask around. Harris, 30, is 6-foot-8 and undoubtedly the type of all-around professional who would generate interest from outsiders and potentially move the needle for the Sixers.
Through the first 14 games this season, he’s averaging 14.7 points and 6.2 rebounds, and shooting 46 percent from the field. Last year, he averaged 17.2 points and 6.8 boards.
While Charania did not identify which teams might be talking to the Sixers, you can be sure the likes of contenders such as the Bucks, Hawks, Heat and highly active Suns would have at least a passing interest. That said, you wouldn’t think the Sixers would deal him to another team in the East — if at all — without a significant return.
Harris has also spent time with the Clippers, Pistons and Magic after playing for the Bucks as a rookie in 2011-12.
