The Magic have been active in trade talks centered on shooting guard Terrence Ross ahead of Thursday’s NBA Draft, per Ian Begley of SNY.tv.
Ross, 30, is still valued but could bring a decent return. The Magic are also said to be floating their two lottery picks (Nos. 5 and 8) in trade talks, though odds are, they’ll end up keeping both.
“Because of that pivot to a younger core, some teams believe Orlando would move Ross for the right return,” Begley wrote. “Ross is under contract for the next two seasons.”
Center Wendell Carter Jr., forward Jonathan Isaac and guards Markelle Fultz and Cole Anthony are the primary players in the Magic’s young core under new coach Jamahl Mosley.
Ross averaged 15.6 points in nearly 30 minutes a game last season, and has two years and $24 million left on his contract. He is represented by Rich Paul.
