Forward/center Bam Adebayo has helped the Heat remain competitive despite an early season that’s been rule by injuries to key players.
That was on full display Friday, when Adebayo scored 38 points and 12 rebounds in a win over the Wizards. He followed that with a 32-point outburst in a win over the Wizards on Sunday.
“I’m in a flow,” Adebayo said, via Shandel Richardson of SI.com. “Coach [Erik Spoelstra] is playing through me. He’s letting me get to my spots. That’s what I’ve been working on this summer, just getting in my spots and just being efficient.”
Along with everything else, Adebayo is 28-of-42 shooting over the previous two games.
“The shots he’s hitting are not easy shots, especially for a five man coming down full head of steam making plays,” guard Tyler Herro said, via Richardson. “He’s really the anchor obviously. I’m just really proud of what he’s doing now.”
- The Heat are ranked No. 19 in the latest power rankings from The Athletic’s Zach Harper. A big reason for that is the play of forward Caleb Martin, per Harper. “He’s not the sole reason for their defensive success with him on the court, but he’s extremely solid,” Harper wrote.
- While the Suns are exploring multiple trade scenarios involving available forward Jae Crowder, the Heat are undoubtedly in the running, as we relayed multiple times, including here.
- It is believed of all the potential destinations, the Heat and Bucks are highest on Crowder’s list, sources told Hoops Wire.
