The Lakers worked out shooting guard Tyler Dorsey, with GM Rob Pelinka and coach Darvin Ham looking on, per Krysten Peek of Yahoo Sports.
Teams became eligible to start signing free agents to 10-day contracts on Thursday and Dorsey could be in line for such a deal.
Dorsey, 26, is 6-foot-4 and appeared in three games with the Mavericks this season after signing a two-way deal in July. He was waived by Dallas late last month.
Originally drafted by the Hawks in the second round (No. 41 overall) in 2017, he was traded to the Grizzlies midway through his second season.
Dorsey appeared in 21 games with Memphis before playing internationally in Israel and Greece.
The Lakers are seeking additional outside shooting, and may go the free agent route to find it.

”Positionally, the Lakers’ biggest need is greater depth at both forward spots, as they sorely need productive two-way players with depth who are taller than 6-foot-6 and can hit 3-pointers at a high rate of accuracy,” wrote Zach Stevens of Lakers Daily.
Tyler Dorsey, who was waved by the Dallas Mavericks last month, worked out for the Los Angeles Lakers today, sources told @YahooSports. General Manager Rob Pelinka and head coach Darvin Ham were both in the gym watching Dorsey.
