With an eye on help at the small forward spot, the Cavaliers have been linked to several opposing players ahead of the Feb. 9 trade deadline.
Now, you can add Knicks forward Cam Reddish to the list of rumors, per Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report/TNT.
Speaking on the This League Uncut podcast with Marc Stein of The Stein Line, Haynes singled out the Cavs as a potential suitor.
And this isn’t the first mention of the Cavs when it comes to Reddish. Cleveland is on the lookout for another wing type, and Reddish is one. He also has not gotten off coach Tom Thibodeau‘s bench in 27 games.
So Reddish would likely welcome a trade and the Knicks are taking offers.
For the Cavs, that could mean small forward Dylan Windler and a second-round pick. That’s truly all it might take. Windler’s $4 million expiring contract does indeed make the deal work, salary-wise, as noted by Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors.
Windler has missed the entire season with what is being called an ankle injury, though league sources tell Hoops Wire he now has a hamstring injury and is considered “day-by-day.”
Reddish, 23, is 6-foot-8, and again, has not played since Dec. 3. He is averaging 8.4 points and shooting a career-high 45 percent from the field in 20 games this season overall.
The Knicks acquired him at the deadline last year after he spent his first two-and-half season with the Hawks. He averaged a career-high 11.9 points and 38 percent shooting on 3-pointers in 34 games with Atlanta before the trade.
If he can tap into that final run with the Hawks, well, then he could prove to be a steal.
Along with the Cavs, Reddish has been linked to the Heat, Lakers, Bucks and Mavericks. Most across the league believe it won’t take much more than a second-round pick and an expiring deal to land him.

I’m in on acquiring Reddish. I think he gives us a look we don’t have, and can slow things down in a good way and make teams load up defensively on the baseline, opening up the top. Other Cavs will get more open looks. He can change the dimensions of the floor on offense when used to his strengths. Cavs could would be more well rounded on paper.
The confusing part is the not playing, and it sounded like Cavs were looking for a starter caliber player on the wing, and don’t think he’d come in and start right away, if at all. Is he better than Okoro overall? I would need help seeing that. But he’s different for sure, I like what he could bring here.
Maybe not perfect but worth the price for the potential. Do this and then skip the 3 team deal and just straight trade Levert to Atlanta for John Collins.
