The Nets have not ruled out attempting to trade guard Spencer Dinwiddie ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline, per Marc Stein of The Stein Line.
Dinwiddie, of course, was acquired as part of the Mavericks’ acquisition of star guard Kyrie Irving, first reported by The Athletic’s Shams Charania. Along with Dinwiddie, Brooklyn is receiving forward Dorian Finney-Smith, and an unprotected 2029 first-round pick and second-round picks in 2027 and 2029. The Nets will also send forward Markieff Morris to the Mavs.
The Nets could still look to move the picks, and apparently Dinwiddie, before Thursday to continue to build around star forward Kevin Durant. While Durant has been linked to the Suns (full post), league sources have told Hoops Wire that the Nets aren’t aiming to trade him.
“As the Nets pursue additional deals before Thursday’s 3 PM ET trade buzzer, league sources say they have not ruled out potentially moving Spencer Dinwiddie elsewhere,” Stein reported.

Dinwiddie, 29, is averaging 17.7 points, 5.3 assists and 3.1 rebounds in 53 games. He is shooting 46 percent from the field and 40 percent on 3-pointers.
He played with the Wizards for most of the 2021-22 season, before being traded to Dallas as part of the deal for forward Kristaps Porzingis at last year’s deadline.
Before that, he spent 2016-21 with the Nets. The No. 38 overall pick of the 2014 NBA Draft, Dinwiddie spent his first two pro seasons with the Pistons.
