The Trail Blazers are acquiring 76ers guard/forward Matisse Thybulle in a trade that will send Hornets small forward Jalen McDaniels to Philadelphia, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
The move should help the Blazers replace guard/forward Josh Hart, who was sent to the Knicks in a trade for Cam Reddish.
The Hornets are receiving multiple second-round picks as part of the trade, per Wojnarowski, presumably from both the Sixers and Blazers.
Thybulle, 25, is 6-foot-5 and in his fourth NBA season, all with Philadelphia. He is averaging career-lows in nearly every statistical category, including just 12.1 minutes, in 45 games. But he is considered one of the toughest defenders of the wing position in the NBA.
McDaniels, 25, is 6-9 and is having a career season, averaging 10.6 points and 4.8 rebounds in 56 games, shooting 45 percent from the field. He has spent each of his four season in Charlotte.
