The Nets received significant trade interest in small forward Mikal Bridges after he was acquired from the Suns as part of the Kevin Durant trade.
So much so that one team offered for first-round picks for Bridges, per Zach Lowe of ESPN.
“I know of one team, and I’ve confirmed this,” Lowe said on The Lowe Post Podcast, via RealGM. “I know of one team who offered four first round picks for Mikal Bridges.
“Now, I know of at least three first-round picks. I think the fourth one may have had some protections or something, but I’m pretty sure that was a thing.”
Lowe did not specify the team, though there were certainly contenders in the mix.
But the Nets clearly intend to keep Bridges, who some predict can become an All-Star and Brooklyn’s No. 1 scoring option.
Bridges, 26, is 6-foot-6 and 17.2 points and 4.3 rebounds, shooting 46 percent from the field and 39 percent on 3-pointers in 56 games, all with the Suns.
He is in the first season of a four-year, $90 million extension signed in 2021-22.
Bridges was originally drafted by the 76er with the No. 10 overall pick in 2018 NBA Draft. He has spent each of his five pro seasons in Phoenix.
