Grizzlies Offered Mutliple Picks and Swaps to Nets for Kevin Durant

The Grizzlies were all in for Kevin Durant ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline. At least, they were before Durant was instead traded away to the Suns.

Per Zach Lowe of ESPN, the Grizzlies offered every possible future first-round pick and pick swap to the Nets or Durant. But the Nets wanted to discuss star guard Ja Morant, forward Jaren Jackson Jr. and shooting guard Desmond Bane, it seems.

Brooklyn was told those players were not available. After all, it likely would defeat the purpose to send off Morant in a trade for Durant.

At any rate, per multiple reports, the Suns were the only team that the Nets took seriously at the deadline. Though, as we relayed here, they did pursue Raptors forward Pascal Siakam to try to convince Durant to stay. Once it became clear that Siakam was not available, the Nets got busy with the Suns.

The Grizzlies? Well, they did manage to land shooting guard Luke Kennard in a deal with the Clippers — staying the course and aiming to make a major playoff run mostly as is.

Along with the offer to the Nets, the Grizzlies offered three first-rounders to the Raptors for forward OG Anunoby, per Lowe.
