The Wizards intend to convert the two-way contract of guard Jordan Goodwin to a standard deal, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Goodwin, 24, is 6-foot-3 and has become a regular part of the rotation, appearing in 40 games and 6.3 points and 3.3 rebounds in his second NBA season, both in Washington. He played thee games last year.
He initially signed with the Wizards for training camp in September, then agreed to a two-way deal a month later. He has also spent time with the Capital City Go-Go of the G League, the Wizards’ affiliate.
In related news, the Wizards have agreed to a contract buyout with guard/forward Will Barton, as we relayed here. Goodwin’s emergence likely played a role in the Wizards’ decision to part ways with Barton.
