CLEVELAND — Knicks guard/forward Josh Hart is questionable for Game 2 vs. the Cavaliers after suffering a sprained left ankle, coach Tom Thibodeau told reporters.
“Just get treatment again tomorrow, see where he is,” Thibodeau said, via Ian Begley of SNY.tv.
Hart did go through portions of practice on Monday, Thibodeau added. Game 2 is Tuesday night in Cleveland.
Hart was a major factor in reserve as the Knicks stole Game 1 on the road. Along with scoring 17 points, he collected 10 rebounds, including a biggie near the end of the game to seal the deal.
He was also a major reason why the Knicks’ bench outscored the Cavs’ by a 37-14 count in a 101-97 victory. So it’s safe to say that the play of reserves was a major factor.
“Obviously our bench has to give us a spark,” Cavs coach J.B. Bickerstaff said. “We have to find a way to manufacture some buckets. How do we create for one another? And how does our bench support our starting cast? At some point in time, we got to find a way to put the ball in the basket. That unit kind of struggled there.”
Knicks power forward Julius Randle was a game-time decision with a sprained ankle of his own, but got New York going early on his way to 19 points.
