The Heat have done pretty well without standout guard Tyler Herro, and that’s a good thing. After all, it does not appear real likely that Herro will be back for the Finals.
According to Ros Gold-Onwude of ESPN, Herro remains in doubt for the series with soreness in his surgically repaired right hand.
“He also shared his consideration of not wanting to come back and mess up the rhythm of the team,” Gold-Onwude reported. “While there was hope he’d return for Game 2 as he’s participating in all aspects of team practice, he’s making sure the time is right for his return to the court.”
The series is tied at 1-all with Game 3 set for Wednesday at Miami.
Again, on the bright side, the Heat have advanced to the Finals minus Herro despite being the No. 8 seed. Herro suffered the injury during the Game 1 upset of the Bucks in the firstr round.
Last season’s Sixth Man of the Year, he started 67 games this year and averaged 20.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists.
