We have one trade involving the NBA Draft, and not surprisingly, it involves the Pacers.
Not surprisingly because the Pacers entered the draft with five picks. Now, they’re down to four, after agreeing to ship picks Nos. 29 and 32 to the Nuggets, as we relayed here.
But that still leaves Indiana with picks Nos. 7, 26, 40 (acquired from Denver) and 55.
In other words, the Pacers are still looking at the possibility of bringing four rookies to training camp, and that’s seemingly not something they want to do.
So head of basketball operations Kevin Pritchard is not done yet, per Scott Agness of Fieldhouse Files.
In exchange for their own picks, the Pacers not only receive No. 40 in this year’s draft from the Nuggets, but the least-favorable first-rounder of their pick and Denver’s in 2024.
One report suggested the Pacers are even floating their No. 7 overall selection in search of immediate help on the wing. They could be talking to the Cavaliers about the No. 26 pick, as we relayed here.
Basically, Pritchard and the Pacers are staying active, even aggressive, with Draft Day Eve upon us.
