The Cavaliers are looking for outside shooting from the wing spot in free agency, and as we relayed here, Heat free agent Max Strus is on their radar.
Cleveland’s interest in Strus was echoed by Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com.
The Cavs are just one of several teams showing interest, with the Pacers, Magic and Pistons said to be among the others. Indiana is said to be considering a three-year, $48 million offer for Strus, per one report.
Strus, 27, averaged 11.5 points on 41 percent shooting in 80 games last season, shooting 35 percent on 3-pointers as the Heat made a surprising run to the Finals. But Miami will likely only pay to bring back free agent guard Gabe Vincent, leaving Strus to seek out other options.
Cleveland has the full Non-Taxpayer MLE of $12.4 million at its disposal this summer. So the Cavs should have the cap space to re-sign Caris LeVert and bring in a few others either via trade or free agency, or both.
