The Rockets are signing small forward Joshua Obiesie to an Exhibit 10 training camp contract, per Keith Smith of Spotrac.
Obiesie, 23, is a native of Germany and went undrafted when first eligible in 2019. He spent the past season with German club Skyliners Frankfurt after a year with Bayern Munich.
He also was a member of the German national team for the 2019 FIBA World Cup, though never appeared in a game. He averaged 12.1 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists with Frankfurt last season.
An Exhibit 10 contract counts toward the camp roster of 20, but not toward the regular-season roster unless the player is signed to a standard deal.
So at the very least, Obiesie should get an opportunity with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the Rockets’ affiliate in the G League.
The Houston Rockets have signed wing Joshua Obiesie to a non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 training camp contract, a league source tells @spotrac.
