The Nets have officially signed power forward Devontae Cacok, the team announced in a press release.
Cacok, 24, is 6-foot-7 and appeared in 20 games with the Lakers last season. Per Shams Charania of The Athletic, Cacok will compete for a two-way spot in Brooklyn.
It would be familiar territory for Cacok, who spent his first two seasons on a two-way deal in LA after going undrafted out of UNC Wilmington. He stood out with the G League’s South Bay Lakers in 2019-20, averaging 19.3 points and 11.9 rebounds in 33 games.
The Nets have two open roster spots heading into training camp, with Kessler Edwards signed to one of the two-way deals. Along with Cacok, rookie David Duke is expected to battle for the other.
