The Lakers are signing forward Jarred Vanderbilt to a four-year, $48 million contract extension with the franchise, agents Rich Paul and agent Erika Ruiz told Shams Charania of The Athletic.
The contract is fully guaranteed, with a player option in the fourth year, Charania added.
Vanderbilt, 24, was entering the final year of his contract and became extension-eligible last week. He’s due to make $4.7 million this season.
Along with the Lakers, Vanderbilt has spent time with the Jazz, Nuggets and Timberwolves. The No. 41 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, he was acquired by the Lakers at the trade deadline in February.
Perhaps the Lakers’ most versatile defender, Vanderbilt averaged 7.9 points and 7.5 rebounds last season.
