With the news that James Harden is arriving in Colorado Springs, Colo., to join his 76ers teammates comes some expectations.
Namely, that he will actually practice and when the time comes, that he will play in games.
Harden, of course, requested a trade in late June after picking up his $35 million player option. He skipped media day and as far as anyone knows, has not rescinded his trade demand.
“(Harden’s arrival) doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll be fully participating in practice, or will practice at all, or how soon he might,” ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski said on NBA Today. “That’s going to be the question for Harden and the Sixers.
“They expect him to practice, they expect him to play. He’s under contract this season. But James Harden arriving in Colorado to technically join his team may be different than just assuming that Harden is going to become a full-fledged member of this organization again.”
