It may not mean much for this season, but the Pelicans have made a pair of moves, signing point guard Jalen Crutcher and waiving forward/center Liam Robbins.
Crutcher, 24, is 6-foot-2 and went undrafted out of Dayton in 2021. He has spent the past two seasons with the Greensboro Swarm of the G League after signing a pair of training camp deals with the Hornets.
The Birmingham Squadron acquired Crutcher’s returning player rights in a trade with the Swarm during the offseason — meaning Crutcher is likely now headed to the Pelicans’ G League club.
Robbins, 24, is a 7-footer and went undrafted out of Vanderbilt this past summer. He signed an Exhibit 10 camp deal with New Orleans in September.
But he suffered a stress fracture in his right fibula and has been ruled out indefinitely. He very well could still find a roster spot with the Squadron as well.
