The Jazz have waived two-way forward Joey Hauser, according to the NBA transactions log.
Hauser, 24, is 6-foot-9 and signed a two-way deal with the Jazz over the summer. He went undrafted out of Michigan State in June, then played with Utah in the Summer League.
He did not appear in either of the Jazz’s first two preseason games because of foot soreness.
Per Ben Anderson of KSL:
“The forward averaged 14.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in his final season with the Spartans and was considered one of the best shooters available in the draft class.”
“Hauser knocked down an impressive 46 percent of his 4.9 three-point attempts per game while shooting a stellar 87 percent from the free-throw line.”
Hauser is highly likely still headed for the Salt Lake City Stars, though for the time being, it won’t be on a two-way contract.
