It seems the Bulls want to hold on to standout guard Zach LaVine at least for the time being.
While LaVine is again hearing his name in trade rumors, Chicago is more likely to keep him and see how things play out early this season, as relayed by Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times.
LaVine has mostly been linked to the 76ers, who surrendered James Harden in the trade with the Clippers. It’s been reported that Philadelphia may be looking to flip some of the assets in that trade to try to land another star.
As for LaVine, trade rumors are nothing new and he suggested he remains unfazed by them.
“I’ve been traded before,” LaVine told Julia Poe of the Chicago Tribune. “Trades are just part of the business and guys get shuffled around every year. I’ve been in trade talks since I’ve been here for some reason.
“I feel like I’ve held up my end of the bargain in my commitment to the Bulls, but there’s not a lot you can do with rumors and people putting your name in trade talks.”
Chicago (2-3) is coming off a loss to the Mavericks and opens the In-Season Tournament at home vs. the Nets on Friday.
