CLEVELAND — At some point, the Cavaliers may be able to keep Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell on the court together for a full game.
Saturday was not that night.
Instead, Garland played just the first two quarters in the Cavs’ 121-115 loss to the Lakers on Saturday before suffering a neck strain and sitting out the second half.
He appeared to suffer the injury in the second quarter when he drove to the basket and attempted to throw a pass to the 3-point line, before crashing to the floor.
The game marked the return of Mitchell, who had missed the previous four with a hamstring issue.
The Cavs (8-8) will stay in Cleveland to face the Raptors on Sunday. Given that Garland had to miss several games with the same injury last week, he may be out for Sunday’s, too.
