Charlotte Hornets point guard LaMelo Ball suffered a right ankle strain vs. the Magic on Sunday and was forced to exit the game.
Ball sustained the injury in the second quarter and was ruled out. He injured the same ankle last year, resulting in the end of his season. The severity of this particular injury will only be determined after further testing.
Ball, 22, is off to a torrid start, averaging career-highs of 25.9 points and 8.6 assists in 14 appearances. He is shooting a career-best 44 percent from the field, including 39 percent on 3-pointers.
The Hornets (5-9 on Sunday) entered the game sitting in fourth place in the Southeast Division.
"strain" sounds sort of made-up, but it didn't look good. Once he has an MRI (probably tomorrow) we'll know better if this is serious or not. Ball sprained his left ankle three times last year and had a season-ending fracture to his right ankle. https://t.co/RXoihuONzt
