The 76ers are seeking a two-way player ahead of the Feb. 8 trade deadline and available Bulls guard Zach LaVine may be their answer.
At least, the Sixers continue to be mentioned as a possible suitor, per Marc Stein of The Stein Line, who cited his conversations at last week’s G Leaguer Showcase.
This, of course, is not the first time LaVine has been linked to the Sixers. More like the 50th. But the fact a trusted veteran reporter such as Stein is writing it leads you to believe that there’s more than just smoke. There’s at least a little fire.
“League sources say that Philadelphia, if it indeed makes an in-season trade with the assets received in the Halloween deal that sent James Harden to the LA Clippers, is still prioritizing a two-way player … as well as a move that does not limit its future optionality,” Stein wrote.
The Bulls are 8-5 since LaVine went down with a foot injury. They’re 5-13 with him.
