Wizards
- The Wizards continue to explore trades on forward Kyle Kuzma with one week to go before the deadline, but league sources tell Hoops Wire they believe Kuzma will remain until the offseason. “I doubt they find a suitable deal, as much as teams are calling,” said one.
- Rookie wing Bilal Coulibaly is considered the lone untouchable on Washington’s roster. He made his second start of the season in Wednesday’s home loss to the Clippers.
- Kuzma is believed to be drawing the strongest interest from the Memphis Grizzlies and Dallas Mavericks. Josh Robbins and David Aldridge of The Athletic reported that the Wizards’ supposed asking price of at least two first-round picks is “overblown.”
- Point guard Tyus Jones is drawing interest from the Raptors, Cavaliers, Timberwolves and Lakers, among others.
76ers
- The 76ers are said to be contemplating their immediate future, and not surprisingly, it will be based on the severity of the latest left knee injury to center Joel Embiid. Once they learn that, they will approach the trade deadline accordingly, sources said.
- They remain interested in Raptors guard Bruce Brown, and are believed to be floating the names of forward Tobias Harris and guard/forward Kelly Oubre in trade talks with Toronto and multiple others. The Sixers might also look to pursue point guard Kyle Lowry, assuming he agrees to a buyout with the Hornets, per reports.
Nets
- The Nets are said to be determined to move at least Royce O’Neale or forward Dorian Finney-Smith before the deadline, if not both. While the Nets like them, neither is considered a part of the long-term plans. Sources believe Brooklyn will move at least one while they presumably can still receive a decent asset in return.
- Brooklyn continues to express interest in Hawks guard Dejounte Murray, sources said. But it appears the Nets are hesitant to move multiple first-round picks in any deal, given that they don’t exactly have a bunch to spare.
