The Oklahoma Thunder are signing veteran center Bismack Biyombo to a minimum contract for the remainder of the season, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Biyombo, 31, is 6-foot-8 and averaged 5.2 points and 6.4 rebounds with the Memphis Grizzlies earlier this season, appearing in 30 games and shooting 56 percent from the field.
He spent the past two years with the Phoneix Suns, appearing in 61 games last season and compiling averages of 4.3 points and 4.3 rebounds. He has also spent time with the Charlotte Hornets, Orlando Magic and Toronto Raptors.
The Grizzlies signed Biyombo to a $5 million deal in early November, but only $1 million of that was guaranteed. He was waived one month ago.
Oklahoma City (35-16) entered Saturday’s game against the Dallas Mavericks just a half-game behind the Minnesota Timberwolves for first place in the Western Conference. The Thunder landed small forward Gordon Hayward from the Hornets in a trade on Thursday.
