The Utah Jazz intend to waive forward Otto Porter Jr., according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
The move follows the news that the Jazz are signing power forwards Kenneth Lofton Jr. and Darius Bazley, as we relayed here.
Porter, 30, is 6-foot-8 and was acquired in a February trade with the Toronto Raptors, along with point guard Kira Lewis Jr., involving forward Kelly Olynyk and shooting guard Ochai Agbaji.
Porter has yet to appear in a game with Utah and has played just 23 overall during the past two seasons in Toronto. He has appeared in 15 this season.
Along with the Jazz and Raptors, Porter has spent time with the Golden State Warriors, Orlando Magic, Chicago Bulls and Washington Wizards.
He carries NBA career averages of 10.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists, though injuries have severely limited his productivity since he appeared in 63 games with Golden State in 2021-22.
The Jazz (28-36) are battling through another season of trying to get to the play-in tournament, though those odds appear to be long with the season running out.
