Nuggets center Bol Bol has entered the NBA’s health and safety protocols, as reported first by Mike Singer of the Denver Post.
It’s been a rough go of things for the Nuggets in the early season, as Bol joins veteran guard Austin Rivers and rookie guard Bones Hyland in the protocols. (Full post.)
The Nuggets, of course, are already without Jamal Murray (knee), who has yet to play this season, or forward Michael Porter Jr. (back), out indefinitely after back surgery. Along with that, guard PJ Dozier tore his ACL earlier this week and is also out for the year.
Bol, 22, had played just 47 minutes in 10 appearances entering Thursday night. He is expected to miss a few games unless he returns two negative tests in the span of 24 hours.
He appeared in 37 games last season, and with so many key players sidelined in Denver, stands a chance to gain more minutes when he returns.
